Appointment Changes Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic

March 19, 2020

Dear Clients of Grand Avenue Veterinary Center,

We continue to walk this very difficult path with all of you as our community strives to care for each other as best we can.

Due to the progression of the COVID-19 pandemic and updated recommendations from the American Veterinary Medicine Association, we are instituting the following changes, effective Friday, March 20th.

We are no longer scheduling non essential appointments. We will be cancelling wellness and elective procedures through April 4th. For those who have already scheduled appointments, we will be reaching out to you over the next several days. We will temporarily be closed Saturdays and evenings.

Please continue to reach out to us if your pet is sick or needs attention in any way. In addition we will be seeing puppies, kittens, and new pets in need of vaccine boosters, as we need to keep them safe from infectious diseases. These appointments will be offered as a curbside service; our staff will escort your pet into the clinic and communication with the veterinarian will take place by phone.

One exception to this policy will be end of life visits, in which case we will welcome you into the clinic with your beloved pet.

We will also offer curbside service to pick up medications or prescription diets. You can call the clinic in advance to place an order and then text our clinic phone (612-324-3000) or call the clinic (651-224-3038) when you arrive to pick up your items.

If you are currently ill, have had contact with anyone that is symptomatic or positive for COVID-19, or are currently quarantined after international travel, we ask that you notify us if we are seeing your pet and that you have a healthy friend or family member bring your pet to the clinic.

We will be implementing telemedicine procedures to help you with your animal’s health and wellness throughout the upcoming weeks. In the case that quarantines increase, we strongly believe that we can support you with continuity of veterinary care.

In step with all of you,

Love and peace from the doctors and staff at Grand Avenue Veterinary Center
