Beating the Summer Heat: 2017 Update

July 5, 2017

Last fall I wrote  this post about how you can reduce the risk of your dog overheating in the car, and I think it’s a good time to re-visit it since we’re heading into full summer. So click the link above for a refresher.

An update I’d like to add, however, is a great product called the Nimble temperature monitor. A sensor placed in your vehicle communicates with your smart phone, alerting you if the temperature goes outside of a range that YOU choose and set. More information on the Nimble can be found at  https://rvpetsafety.com/

Remember that in general, it is best to leave your pet at home on hot days. If you find yourself traveling, attending dog sports competitions, or other situations where your dog is with you, you need to budget time, money, and effort to make your travels as safe as possible before you hit the road.

Happy summer and safe travels!
