Getting to Know Claudia!

August 4, 2021

We’re taking this month to get you caught up on all of our wonderful new staff! This week we’re introducing Claudia, who was originally hired to help out our hard-working assistants, but decided she wants to go into veterinary medicine as a career, and is looking to become a veterinary technician. She’s now working as an assistant, and we’re thrilled to have her on board!

What made you decide to work in this field?

I’ve always loved animals, when I was really little I wanted to be a marine biologist, I was actually pursuing another career, but I realized I was feeling more fulfilled at Grand Avenue Veterinary Center, and decided to pursue a career as a CVT!

Where did you go to school?

The University of Minnesota

Do you have an area of special interest in veterinary medicine?

I think surgery is really interesting, but I’m not quite sure yet!

Tell us about your pets.

I have a new kitten; her name is Dinah, she loves to snuggle and eat my plants!

Tell us about your history with Grand Avenue Veterinary Center.

I started working as a part time runner while I was pursuing another career, but as time went on I found I was more passionate about working with animals than I was feeling in my other pursuits, and I decided to start working as an assistant and apply to tech school.

What is your favorite form of exercise?

I was a swimmer in high school and I still love it, it’s my favorite sport to watch in the Olympics!

What is your favorite time of the day/day of the week/month of the year?

My favorite time of the year is the fall, probably end of November early December.

What sound do you love?

I love the sound of crunchy leaves in the fall!

If you could witness any event past, present, or future, what would it be?

I love Frank Sinatra and would have loved to see him perform live!
