We love new patients… and their owners!

Grand Avenue Veterinary Center is always accepting new clients. We love adding to our family of pets and owners. If you are considering coming in, there are a few things you can do to make the most of your visit.

Be Paw-pared for Your Pet’s First Visit!

If that pun didn’t scare you off, here’s a few things you’ll need to know before your pet’s first appointment with us!

Before Your Appointment

Schedule Your Appointment: Our team is available to help you schedule the best time for you and your pet!
Gather Your Pets Records: Gather and bring all your pet’s medical or adoption records to give your vet the best record of your pet’s medical history.
Fill Out New Patient Forms: Cut the wait time by filling out and bringing in the new patient form online!
Arrive Early: Parking on Grand Avenue is pretty limited. We do have a small parking lot behind our building via Dunlap St and Lexington Ave, but spots are sparse!
Manage Your Pet: Please ensure you dogs are leashed and cats in carriers! New places and high activity can excite your pet or make them nervous. Keeping them contained protects them and our staff.

During Your Visit

Examination: When it's time for your appointment, a client services representative will escort you and your pet to an exam room, where an assistant will ask a few questions and check weight and temperature.
Assistance: During your pet's exam, a technician may assist the doctor by safely restraining your pet. It's often better for the pet if someone other than the owner restrains them and the owner remains present and relaxed during the exam.

After Your Visit

Checkout: After your appointment, our staff can check you out either at the reception desk or in the exam room. They are also happy to assist getting your pets to and from your car.
