We Love New Patients... and Their Owners

Grand Avenue Veterinary Center is always accepting new clients. We love adding to our family of pets and owners. If you are considering coming in, there are a few things you can do to make the most of your visit.

Before Your Appointment

1. Schedule Appointment
We work by appointment in order to minimize wait times and to provide as much time as needed to assess and treat every patient. Our client services team is happy to assist you in scheduling a convenient appointment time. You are welcome to request a specific doctor but hope you will get to know all of them.

2. Gather Records
Before your first visit, please gather any medical or adoption records you may have for your pet. Your veterinarian needs this information to get an accurate record of your pet’s medical history.

3. Fill Out Forms
You may also fill out the new client/patient form and bring it with you to the appointment to expedite some of the waiting time.

4. Arrive Early
We are located on busy Grand Avenue where parking can sometimes be difficult. We do have a small parking lot located behind our building that is accessible via Dunlap Street or Lexington Avenue. Please plan on being here 45 minutes – 1 hour for your first visit.

5. Manage Your Pet
We recommend leashes for dogs and pet carriers for cats and some smaller dogs. This will prevent any incidents with other animals that may also be in the lobby. The street and parking lot can be busy and pets may get very excited by all the activity. If other pets bother your pet, let the client services team know in advance and we can minimize or eliminate the time your pet spends in our reception area.

During Your Visit

1. Examination
When it is time for your appointment, one of our client services representatives will escort you and your pet to an examination room. An exam room assistant will then come in and ask you a few questions regarding your visit. Weight check and temperature may also be done at this time.

2. Assistance
During the examination and treatment of your pet, an exam room technician may assist the doctor. They are trained to safely and comfortably restrain your pet. Most pets will respond better to restraint by someone other than the owner. It works best when the owner remains relaxed and in view of the patient during the examination.

After Your Visit

1. Checkout
After your appointment, our staff can check you out either at the reception desk or in the exam room. They are also happy to assist getting your pets to and from your car.

2. Feedback
Grand Avenue Veterinary Center has grown and thrived on the goodwill and satisfaction of our clients. We would greatly appreciate your feedback. We encourage you to do this by contacting us directly by email or phone. You may also receive an email survey following your visit; these are extremely helpful to us as we strive to provide the best experience for you and your pet. We appreciate online reviews; you may leave feedback on Yelp, Google+ or Facebook.
